Activation toys are a must for every dog owner
Yes, we actually mean that and it also makes good sense when you think about what a dog has all day, it has to fill up and even if your dog also needs to sleep and relax, there are still a lot of hours in a day. In nature, it would spend a lot of time finding food and food is one of the big keywords when it comes to activation toys for your dog. Which is lucky for us humans, since the dog's stomach controls one's dog a long way, we can use this to our advantage and in that way ensure one's dog is activated.
Activation toys every dog owner MUST own
Ok "must" is probably a big word, but we recommend all dog owners to acquire: Min. an activation food bowl, a treat ball, a challenging treat toy and of course a rope, teddy bears, balls and stuffed animals.
Why might you think, well the simple answer is, they have to have something to do and a physically and mentally active dog is a healthier dog that will be easier to raise etc.
But a little explanation comes here, why these things
Why is the activation food bowl a "must have"?
We have mentioned it before that the way to a dog's heart is food, yes and hugs, kisses and a lot of love ;-) but funnily enough food is a large part of a dog's life, you have to remember that in nature, most animals will spend a lot , if not all their time finding food and reproducing. Therefore, an activation food bowl is also one of the most important things you should own when you have a dog.
As the No. 1 advantage of an activation food bowl, you can say that it is super easy to activate and it will happen 2-3 days a day. Which should be an opportunity not to be missed.
The purpose of an activation food bowl is to make it challenging for your dog to eat his food. There are several advantages to this, it will be activated, it will take more time to get hold of its food and it will chew more on its food, which will help prevent tartar and ensure it does not swallow its food.
This happens because the activation food bowl is shaped in a way that makes it difficult for the dog to eat the food and thus drag the food out.
You can of course also throw the dog's food out on the grass, but you have to be careful that it doesn't eat anything it shouldn't and it's not very smart in all kinds of weather either.
Why is a treat ball good?
Now we say treat ball, but you can also put other things in the dog's food. One option is a good wet food from Hill's or Specifik and after a trip in the freezer. Then the dog is activated for a long time and it can be really good on a hot summer day.
But a treat ball is good in itself, as it again challenges your dog and makes him do something for his treats or dog food.
There are also lots of other good things you can use to activate your dog, such as ropes and other dog toys.
