Can cats catch colds?

Kan katte blive forkølede?
To the question of whether a cat can catch a cold, the answer is yes. A cat is a living creature in the same way as us humans, and can therefore catch a cold, but it can also be symptoms of something else. Cats (Probably mostly outdoor cats) can be infected by more serious things than just colds during mating and other things, and the symptoms are often the same.

So the best advice if your cat sneezes very violently, has runny eyes and is more tired than usual, is to drop by or give your local vet a call, as these can also be signs of eye inflammation, pneumonia etc. which can require penicillin. At the same time, it may be that your vet has something that can help your cat with his cold, should it just be a small cold :-)
